Using techniques that have remained unchanged for hundreds of years and materials from Jiangxi (the source of some of the world’s finest porcelain clay) craftsmen create these exquisite hand-made porcelains just as their grandfathers did and their grandfathers before them. Their methods are traditional, intensely detailed, and increasingly rare. Each intricate design is painted entirely by hand; an underglaze artist must apprentice for ten years before he can be granted his highly skilled position.
